Whenever someone tells me “I don't know which subject/subfield/career I'm interested in”, I always tell them to F around and find out =)

I used to think of my ideal career trajectory as Undergrad -> Master's -> PhD -> Professorship

But interning at academic research labs made me realize that academia is not for me.

I'll complete my Master's in a year and I still haven't decided which career I wanna pursue, and that's okay!

Most people worry they'll be “late” if they keep exploring different subjects/sub-fields/careers.

But let me tell you, “late” and “early” are all set by society. There’s no late and no early for you.

You are never too young/too old to do something.

It's never too late or too early.

It’s better to take your time to decide the direction in which you want to go, rather than go in the wrong direction (summed up in the quote below by my favourite author Matt Haig - @mattzhaig on Instagram)

For example, I'm still considering careers as Behavioral Scientist, UX Researcher, Data Scientist, Science Communicator/Copywriter for BeSci firms, Musician, and a Stand-up Comedian haha.

I'll explore these fields through courses and internships during/after my Master's

Do internships in diverse fields of your interest in academia, industry, and the social sector.

Go on, explore, learn, fail, grow,

and don't forget to skew the norm =)
