The fastest way to get an internship in my opinion:
- Find and shortlist firms. For ex, if I’m interested in a behavioral science internships, I’d search for behavioral science firms on google
- Find LinkedIn accounts of the CEO and the head of the team of the area you want to work in. For ex, if you want to do a marketing internship, find LinkedIn account of the head of marketing.
- Tabulate all this information in a spreadsheet
- Begin reaching out to the CEO and heads of teams you’re interested in offering free work for a month and tell them if they like the work, you’d love to discuss paid engagements with them.
- Minimum effort it takes to get an internship:
- 100 cold messages/emails per MONTH
- Follow up with each cold message/email 3x, so 300 follow ups per MONTH
- Do this continuously for 6 months. You’ll have 600 cold messages/emails sent, 50 interviews landed, and hopefully 1 internship.
