How do I avoid burnout, especially as someone in my 20s? As someone who has a research internship at Cambridge, two independent research projects, full-time college, and a few side projects, I would argue that the quickest path to burnout is caring too much about what others think and caring too less about what you think. Here’s how you can overcome that:
Know that whatever you’re doing, you’re doing it FOR YOURSELF. So why should it matter what others think?
Remind yourself that people are ALWAYS going to say things no matter what you do. So might as well do what you want :)
These two pieces of advice have saved me from the debilitating social anxiety that I had when I was 14. Now, at 20, I actually look forward to giving presentations and addressing people :D
