These books and articles/posts have proved to be the most valuable reads of my life, both professionally and personally (some even saved my life). I highly, highly recommend EVERYONE reads them.

There are a lot of links in my essential reads page. If you can’t find the links to any of them, try googling them. You’ll probably find a tweet or Youtube video or article related to it.

I recommend you put an event on your calendar to read these for 15 mins everyday (it’s what I do). Here’s one essential read before you get into the other essential reads:

I believe it is 5 inputs that determine the majority of life outcomes, and these are what I’ve prioritized every single day:

  1. Protein-rich, low-carb, low-fat diet around 1500 calories
  2. 30 minutes of weightlifting at the gym, followed by 8000 steps
  3. 7 hours of high-quality sleep
  4. Friendships with those with similar values who also challenge you
  5. High agency

Until I get these basics right, nothing will help me feel fulfilled (especially things that most other people turn to—drinking, smoking, drugs, bingeing, therapy, doomscrolling).

I’m not judging anyone for doing all this. To each their own. If they’re happy with their choices, then I’m happy for them. It’s just not what I would do or recommend my friends to do.
